European stocks closed mixed Wednesday, with sovereign bond yields rising in Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, and as investors analyzed new unemployment data in the Eurozone. The European Stoxx 600 index recorded 521.14 points at the end of trading. The British FTSE 100 index rose by 14.21 points, or 0.17 percent, to 8290.86 points. The French CAC 40 index rose by 3.52 points, or 0.05 percent, reaching 7577.59 points. While the German DAX index closed down by 48.39 points, or 0.25 percent, reaching 19164.75 points at the close.
