EU Borrell describes Israeli attempts to outlaw UNRWA as nonsense

BRUSSELS: The High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, Joseph Borrell, said that Israel's attempts to outlaw UNRWA and label it as a terrorist organization, an action which he rejected, amounts to targeting regional stability and the human dignity of all those benefiting from the UN agency's work. 'Outlawing UNRWA - and labeling it as a terrorist, which it is not - amounts to targeting regional stability and human dignity of all those benefiting from the UN agency work,' he said in a post on X. 'We join many partners in urging the Israeli government to halt this nonsense.' Israel's war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, coincided with the launching of attacks on the UN relief agency in an attempt to liquidate the Palestinian refugee issue.
