Paris Together - The Egyptian Olympic team achieved a historic victory over its Spanish counterpart, with two goals to one, yesterday evening, Tuesday, at the conclusion of the group stage of the football competitions in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. With this victory, the Pharaohs raised their score to 7 points, topping the Group 3 standings, one point ahead of La Roja, the second-place team, and they both qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition. The first half ended with the Egyptian team leading by one goal to none, scored by Ibrahim Adel in the 40th minute with a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area after a perfect pass from his teammate Ahmed Mustafa "Zizo". The same player returned to score against Spain in the 63rd minute, taking advantage of a huge defensive mistake by John Pacheco in returning the ball to his goalkeeper, for Ibrahim Adel to seize and put it in the net while the goalkeeper came out to meet him. In the 90th minute, while the Egyptian defense was unaware, stri ker Amudrion rose and headed the ball in a wonderful way into Hamza Alaa's net, scoring Spain's only goal. Egypt will play in the quarter-finals against the second-placed team in Group D, which includes Japan, Paraguay, Mali, and Israel. Source: Maan News Agency
