An earthquake of 5 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the islands of Tonga in the South Pacific today. The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 463.8 km. There have been no reports of material damage or human losses due to the earthquake. The Tonga Islands is an archipelago of 176 islands scattered in the South Pacific, of which only 52 are inhabited, located in northwest New Zealand and Australia. Source: Qatar News Agency
