Tokyo, An earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Hachijojima Island, Japan. Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported that the earthquake occurred in the sea adjacent to the island at a depth of 40 km, explaining that no warning had been issued about the possibility of tsunami waves.
