President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received today, Wednesday, at the Baghdad Palace, National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji. During the meeting, according to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic, the latest developments in the security situation in Iraq and the region were discussed, as the President of the Republic stressed that the stability of Iraq is a fundamental pillar for the stability and security of the region, especially in light of the serious and escalating challenges it faces, pointing to the importance of raising the level of coordination and information and intelligence exchange and intensifying cooperation between the various security agencies to confront the existing challenges and risks. The President also explained that "the barbaric aggression to which the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples are exposed has negatively affected the overall regional security, political and economic conditions, which requires strengthening the internal front and preserving the lives and property of citizens by securing the borders and making efforts to eliminate the remnants of terrorism, drying up its sources and combating organized crime gangs." For his part, the National Security Adviser provided an explanation of the security situation and the plans in place to maintain stability in Iraq and the region. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
