Dr. Bin Habtoor participates in first conference opening on psychological effects of aggression on Yemen

Caretaker Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor participated in the opening of the first conference on the psychological effects of the aggression on Yemen, which was held on Wednesday in Sana'a by the Psychiatric and Neurological Hospital "Al-Amal Psychiatry" in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. In his speech, Dr. Bin Habtoor expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Public Health and Population and those in charge of this important scientific work. He pointed out that the government encourages the establishment of such scientific activities and is keen to discuss their outputs and take the necessary measures for the results and recommendations issued by them. He explained that mental health is one of the important sciences in the health field, which is almost not without state institutions, including stable and developed countries that have not been subjected to aggression, go through wars or face challenges, as is the case in Yemen. He pointed out that the psychological effects of the US- Saudi-UAE aggression on Yemeni society require the establishment of a psychiatric center in every neighborhood to provide care for psychiatric patients, especially children and women. He noted the great efforts of Al-Amal Hospital and the rest of the similar frameworks in this aspect. "Wars and conflicts have become inherent to Yemen during the past six decades, thus creating and leaving many tragedies on the homeland and its people, so that the current aggression exacerbates the tragedy and leaves many effects and repercussions in various aspects, including the psychological aspect of the Yemeni person," said Dr. Bin Habtoor. He added, "Psychiatry in such a situation plays an important role towards society, especially children, and consultants, doctors and health workers in this field are credited with the success achieved in this type of health care and treatment." He pointed out that this conference is one of the important conferences because it raised a number of important questions and shed light on a n important segment of society, so that the world knows that there is a witnessed crime committed and is still committed by the countries of aggression and blockade. The Prime Minister touched on the tragic situation experienced by the brothers in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank as a result of the aggression and the unjust criminal war amid the failure of the Arab regime, part of which stands neutral and part declares its explicit alliance with the Zionist enemy and justifies its daily massacres and the war of total extermination against the Palestinians. He pointed out that at a time when many Western peoples revolted against the Zionist aggression on Gaza, the Arab peoples, with the exception of the Yemeni people and the peoples of the axis of resistance, live in a state of silence and indifference, as if what is happening in Gaza does not concern them from near or far. Dr. Bin Habtoor concluded his speech by thanking all the medical and health staff working in the field of psychiatry and neurology for their great services to this segment. Source: Yemen News Agency
