Director General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA) Rafiq Kharfan, participated in a workshop in Cyprus, held by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) for its partners from refugee-hosting countries, within the framework of the project: Strengthening the Influence of Palestinian Refugees on their Living Conditions in the MENA region. In a statement on Thursday, Kharfan noted this project is a GIZ-implemented regional initiative, in Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon, aimed to improve the living conditions of Palestinian refugees in camps, and provide technical and institutional support to the hosting nations. During the workshop, Kharfan added that discussions went over areas of joint cooperation among hosting countries, noting expertise and knowledge were exchanged at the technical level, in addition to reviewing ways to network and coordinate to serve Palestinian refugees.
