Ramallah: The Donor Coordination Group convened its final meeting for 2025 under the leadership of Finance and Planning Minister Estephan Salameh to address the ministry's financial priorities in light of the ongoing financial crisis.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Minister Salameh presented the latest organizational developments and ongoing reforms spearheaded by the ministry. Discussions highlighted the financial challenges confronting the Palestinian government and the pursuit of emergency funding to bolster financial stability.
The meeting also concentrated on the recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza, stressing the importance of the Palestinian government's leadership in these efforts to maintain the unity of the land and institutions. Discussions included international partners' contributions to priority sectors, particularly the health sector, and strategies to enhance coordination in Gaza's recovery initiatives.
Participants expressed their support for the ministry's reform directions, emphasizing the need to strengthen the connection between planning and budgeting, support government institutions, and tackle key financial concerns, such as the release of tax clearance revenues.
The session concluded with a call for sustained coordination and cooperation between international partners and the Palestinian government to ensure the success of recovery efforts and maintain financial stability in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
