Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump selected on Monday Senator JD Vance of Ohio as his vice presidential running mate for the US 2024 presidential election. The former president announced Vance, as his vice-presidential pick on the first day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin state. Trump stated that Vance has had a very successful business career in technology and finance and will focus throughout the campaign on American workers and farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and beyond. The Republican National Convention will continue for four days, and an estimated 50,000 Trump supporters are expected to attend the event, themed "Make America Again," at the Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee.
