The Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs in Hodeidah Governorate, distributed food, shelter, cash aid and emergency bags to families affected by torrential rains in a number of the governorate's districts. The aid targets 2,355 affected and displaced families due to the severe damage to their homes and properties as part of the ongoing relief efforts to alleviate the suffering of citizens. The director of the Council's branch, Jaber Al-Razihi, explained that the emergency aid includes 500 families with shelter materials in Al-Maraw'ah District provided by the Yemeni Red Crescent Society, and 777 families with food baskets in Al-Qanawis and Al-Zaidiyah Districts provided by Qatar Charity. He pointed out that emergency response bags were distributed to 100 families in Al Marawa'ah District with support from the Norwegian Council, 60 families in Al Hali District and 69 families in Ad Duraihimi District with support from Roya Amal Organization. Al Razhi also reported that cash assistance was distributed t o 163 families in Ad Duraihimi District, provided by the Gitta Al Rahma Foundation, at a rate of 56 thousand riyals per family, as well as the distribution of food baskets to about 175 families in Az Zahra District with support from Al Noor Charitable Society. The Director of the Humanitarian Affairs Branch in the governorate pointed out that the distribution of food baskets to more than 511 families affected by the floods in Bayt Al Faqih District, provided by the Islamic Relief Foundation, was launched. He explained that the food and shelter aid convoy provided by the people of Saada was distributed to affected families in the northern and southern districts of the governorate. He stressed that the Council's branch is making more efforts in coordination with organizations, institutions and associations working in the humanitarian field, to enhance interventions and assistance to alleviate the suffering of all affected families in the areas and villages affected by the floods.
