The Intelligence Agency detachments specialized in combating terrorism in Salah al-Din Governorate monitored information indicating the existence of an arms trafficking network. The Agency stated in a statement that "intelligence efforts were mobilized and a specialized working team was formed in cooperation with other security agencies in the governorate, where the locations of the accused were identified and they were arrested red-handed after obtaining the original judicial approvals, and in their possession were weapons of various types and shapes. It confirmed that "their statements were recorded and they explicitly confessed to trading in weapons inside and outside the governorate, and the accused were referred to the competent investigative authorities to receive their just punishment."
