A meeting that included the Minister of Transport in the caretaker government, Abdul Wahab Al-Durrah, and the Executive Director General of the Yemeni Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Authority, Sam Al-Bashiri, today,Wednesday, discussed cooperation and coordination between the Ministry and the Authority in technical aspects. The meeting reviewed the coordination mechanism regarding sea and air transport, including control of incoming goods. During the meeting, Minister Al-Durra praised the efforts of the Standards Authority in protecting consumers from harm from materials and goods that do not conform to the approved standard specifications. He stressed the importance of integrating efforts between the Ministry and the Authority, as it would advance joint tasks and activities, especially in light of the exceptional circumstances that Yemen is going through. While Al-Bashiri appreciated the efforts made by the leadership of Transport Ministry , stressing the Authority's keenness to strengthen coo rdination with the Ministry to serve the public interest.
