The Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Fund in Sana'a launched on Monday the disbursement of the first batch of educational aid amounting to 246 million and 651 thousand Y.R for 2,449 male and female students with disabilities for the academic year 2023-2024 . Executive Director of the Fund Dr. Ali Mughli confirmed that the aid includes students with disabilities in various educational stages, through the Postal Authority and its branches in the free provinces, including all districts of Taiz province. He explained that the amount included the disbursement of the remaining aid to students within the fifth batch for the academic year 2022-2023 in the amount of 13 million and 813 thousand Y.R, and the first batch for the academic year 2023-2024 in the amount of 163 million and 387 thousand Y.R for all students whose data and documents are complete and correct. Dr. Mughli stated that the disbursement process included university dues amounting to 21 million and 710 thousand Y.R. He explained that the Fund's man agement is keen to send financial aid in the names of students according to their database, which is updated annually; to ensure that educational aid reaches them personally away from repetition and duplication, or tampering with their dues. He pointed out that transferring educational aid to students with disabilities is a legal and ethical obligation of the Fund's management; to enable them to continue their education. The Fund's Executive Director pointed out that transferring financial aid to students with disabilities in areas outside the authority of the Supreme Political Council is done in foreign currency to ensure that their dues are received in full without being affected by the collapse of the illegal currency there. It is noteworthy that the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled is currently evaluating the educational level of persons with disabilities, with the aim of working to raise and develop this level.
