The acting governor of Dhalea, Abdul Latif Al-Shaghdari, on Monday inspected the water level in the Lahjin dam in Koula Al-Zaqri, Damt District. The dam's capacity is 300 thousand cubic meters to irrigate agricultural lands in the region. Al-Shaghdari stressed the importance of paying attention to water barriers and dams in feeding groundwater wells that contribute to providing water for agriculture throughout the year. He pointed out the need to exploit the rainy season in raising the water level in the barriers and dams in the permissible engineering form and clearing the canals and working to empty the dams and barriers in the event that the water level in them increases until they are exposed to danger. Al-Shaghdari directed the Agriculture Office and the Financing Unit to pay attention to the barrier and dam projects and supervise them in a way that ensures comprehensive agricultural development in the governorate.
