Iranian media reported that Iranian Vice President for Strategic Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif submitted his resignation to President Masoud Pezeshkian. A decree issued on August 1 by the Iranian President stated that Mohammad Javad Zarif was appointed Vice President for Strategic Affairs based on Article 124 of the Constitution and in view of the levels of merit and valuable administrative, academic and executive experience he possesses.
