Director General of the Jordan Media Commission (JMC), Bashir Momani, said that the JMC filed a complaint last week with the Amman Public Prosecutor against the Yarmouk Satellite Channel Company for violating the Audiovisual Media Law by broadcasting without a license, as the Public Prosecutor decided to confiscate the devices used in broadcasting without a license as part of the evidence in the case. The JMC had filed several complaints in the past in this regard, a number of which included a general pardon law, while the latest decision was issued by the highest judicial body in the Kingdom (the Court of Cassation) in cassation and by written order and considered the channel's actions constitute the crime of broadcasting without a license, Momani said in a statement sent to the Jordan News Agency (Petra). Momani explained that the decision was in accordance with the definition of broadcasting in the Audiovisual Media Law and in accordance with the special decision issued by the Special Bureau for the Inte rpretation of Laws, which prompted the JMC to file a new complaint with the Amman Public Prosecutor, and the judicial procedures were carried out according to the law and principles. Momani said that the JMC will apply the law without any hesitation to the violating parties, noting that the judiciary is the final arbiter and has general jurisdiction in issuing verdicts.
