Iranian authorities announced today, Monday, the suspension of commercial activity of Mehran Customs in Ilam Province, western Iran, for 25 days starting today. The decision was made, according to the authorities, to make way for the visitors of the Arbaeen visit to the Iraqi city of Karbala. It is noteworthy that this week witnessed the beginning of the influx towards the city of Karbala on foot from various Iraqi provinces and from outside the country to commemorate the Arbaeen pilgrimage, which will fall on the 20th of Safar in the Hijri calendar, August 19 or 20.
