Colonists Storm Community Near the Jordan Valley, Attempt Stealing Livestock

Ein al-Hilweh: Last night, colonists stormed the residential community of Ein al-Hilweh in the northern Jordan Valley and attempted to steal livestock.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources reported that several settlers stormed the community sometime after midnight last night and attempted to steal livestock from their pens, but were prevented by the intervention of citizens and activists.

Colonists frequently attempt to steal livestock from citizens' pens or while grazing them in nearby pastures. Such incidents are part of a broader pattern of violence by colonists, which also includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes.

Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law. All colonies across the West Bank are illegal under international law, particularly article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which establishes that the occupying power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.
