Presidential Spokesperson Delivers Letter from President Abbas to Mauritanian Counterpart

Nouakchott: The President's Special Envoy, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, who serves as the Presidential Spokesperson and a member of the Fatah Central Committee, delivered a letter from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani. This took place during a meeting at the Presidential Palace in the presence of Palestinian Ambassador Mohammed Qasim Al-Asaad.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Abu Rudeineh expressed gratitude to the Mauritanian President for the support his country has consistently shown for the Palestinian people and their cause in international forums. He emphasized Palestine's commitment to enhancing bilateral relations, which includes the activation of ministerial committees to benefit both nations.

During the meeting, Abu Rudeineh discussed recent developments in Palestine, highlighting the ongoing aggression by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. He reiterated the Palestinian stance on halting the aggression, ensuring withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, delivering aid, preventing displacement, and implementing international resolutions to establish the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Mauritanian President reiterated his country's support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the need for an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. He expressed admiration for President Abbas's leadership and affirmed Mauritania's readiness to support Palestine in international forums and strengthen bilateral relations. The President stressed that the Palestinian cause is a central concern for the Mauritanian people.
