Nablus: Israeli colonists on Wednesday set up more new caravans atop Jabal Sbeih in the town of Beita, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources. They reported that colonists erected additional mobile homes on the western side of Jabal Sbeih as part of efforts to expand the new colonial outpost.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, colonists also attacked Palestinian homes in the town of Beita, south of Nablus. The report highlighted that colonists raided the Bir Qouza area in Beita and attempted to assault the inhabitants, who confronted them and prevented the attack.
Colonists' violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. Such violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
