Colonists attack Palestinian olive pickers northeast of Jerusalem

JERUSALEM: Extremist colonists attacked on Friday Palestinian olive-pickers in the town of Hizma, northeast of Jerusalem.

Local sources told WAFA that colonists from the ‘Adam’ colony, built illegally on Palestinian land in the towns of Hizma and Jaba’a, attacked several members of the Abu Helo family while they were picking olives in the eastern part of the town, to force them to leave their land.

Colonists’ attacks on residents and their property in the eastern part of the town of Hizma have escalated since the beginning of the olive harvest season.

The olive harvest season is crucial for thousands of Palestinian families, many of whom rely on it for their livelihood.
