The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the destruction of five uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAV) over the Red Sea. CENTCOM said in a statement that US forces destroyed five UAVs over the Red Sea that were launched over Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. The statement indicated that the Houthis also launched multiple attacks on two oil tankers, damaging one of them. Since Nov. 19, 2023, the Houthis have carried out dozens of attacks on merchant vessels and tankers in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Arabian Sea, which they suspect are linked to Israel or heading to its ports. In an attempt to deter the Houthis, US and UK forces have launched several strikes on their sites in Yemen since January 12. Source: Qatar News Agency
