Gaza: Canada has condemned the killing of al-Jazeera journalists, including Anas al-Sharif, in an airstrike that targeted media crews' tents in Gaza. It added that "journalists are civilians - targeting them is unacceptable." The country has called for full accountability and for the protection of media personnel everywhere.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, on August 10, the occupation forces directly targeted a journalists' tent in front of Al-Shifa Hospital west of Gaza City. This attack resulted in the death of seven citizens, including journalists Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqea, both correspondents for Al Jazeera. Photojournalists Ibrahim Daher and Mohammed Nofal, along with the crew's driver, were also killed in the strike. Journalist Mohammed Sobh sustained injuries during the incident.
