RAMALLAH: Prime Minister, Mohammed Mustafa today discussed the efforts and international contacts made by President Mahmoud Abbas and the government to stop the ongoing brutal Israeli occupation's attacks on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, most recently the military offensive against the Tulkarem camp and Hebron's town of Sair. Speaking at the start of the Cabinet meeting in Ramallah, Mustafa underscored the importance of the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) which affirmed the illegality of the occupation and the need to end it and achieve justice for Palestinians. The cabinet also discussed the government's reform plans, highlighting the approach taken by the government toward reform and its readiness to work hard to face the pressing issues, which have led organizations, particularly the World Bank, EU and UN, to provide financial and political assistance to Palestine. Mustafa stressed that any agreement with international partn ers will not derogate from the framework of the Palestinian National Strategy and the approved and announced government program. The cabinet also reviewed the weekly report on Israeli violations in Jerusalem, including demolitions, mounting incursions into al-Aqsa mosque and detentions.
