By Meeting Malaysian FM…The President Confirms The Govt’s Support For The Private Sector To Contribute To The Work Inside Iraq

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, affirmed the government’s support for the private sector to contribute to work inside Iraq.

A presidential statement said: “The president met today, Malaysian Foreign Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir, in the presence of Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.”

It added, “During the meeting, they discussed the existing bilateral relations between Iraq and Malaysia, where the President stressed the importance of strengthening and developing them in areas of common interest, in a way that achieves the mutual interests of the two peoples and the two countries.”

The President indicated Iraq’s keenness to build good relations with neighboring countries and the world, stressing that the government is moving forward in consolidating stability, enhancing investment opportunities and supporting the private sector to contribute to work inside Iraq, especially in infrastructure projects, services and reconstruction.

For his part, Minister Zambry Abdel Kadir expressed his happiness to visiting Baghdad and meeting the President of the Republic, praising the developments that Iraq is witnessing at various levels.

The minister affirmed Malaysia’s endeavor to enhance cooperation and investment between the two countries by encouraging the work of companies, laboratories and factories, expressing his hope to open the Malaysian embassy in Iraq within the next two months.
