The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs and Legal Affairs, Omar Al-Barzanji, received, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Baghdad, copies of the credentials of eight new ambassadors to Iraq. The Ministry stated in a statement, 'The ambassadors are: the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Khalid Ahmed Al-Mansour, the Ambassador of Malta, George Saeed Zammit, the Ambassador of Ghana, Mohammed Habib Idris, the Ambassador of Angola, Mr. Jose G.Martins, the Ambassador of Ethiopia, Saeed Mohammed Jibril, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Udaya Kumara, the Ambassador of Portugal, Fernando de Ure de Berto, and the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slavko Matanovic. The statement added, "The Undersecretary conveyed, while receiving the ambassadors separately, the greetings of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, and the desire of the Iraqi government to establish friendly relations and cooperation with everyone based on common interests , enhance political, economic and commercial cooperation, and overcome differences through dialogue." The statement stressed the importance of moving to establishing diplomatic relations through embassies residing in Baghdad with the aim of expanding the horizons of cooperation and confronting global and regional challenges, based on the openness of the Iraqi government to everyone within bilateral and multilateral frameworks in international organizations. The ceremony of receiving the credentials was attended by the heads of the relevant departments and the head of the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
