Five independent British lawmakers, including former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, Tuesday called for a complete ban on British arms exports to Israel. The MPs have announced the formation of a new parliamentary bloc, the "Independent Alliance" in the House of Commons, which consists of Corbyn, Shockat Adam, Ayoub Khan, Adnan Hussain and Iqbal Mohamed. They said in a statement that there have been ongoing calls for months for a complete and prompt halt to British arms sales to Israel, noting that the British government has finally acknowledged the real risk of these weapons being used in violation of international law. The statement also stressed the need to ban the export of F-35 aircraft parts used by the Israeli army in its military operations in Gaza. The British government has announced a partial ban that includes 30 out of 350 arms export licenses to Israel. Source: Jordan News Agency
