The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, stressed today, Monday, the importance of developing the horizon of joint cooperation between Iraq and Iran. The Presidency of the Region stated in a statement, 'The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, met in Tehran with the Iranian Supreme Leader, Mr. Ali Khamenei, expressing during the meeting his happiness at meeting Mr. Khamenei.' According to the statement, Barzani stressed 'the readiness and desire to develop relations with Iran in all fields,' again 'expressing thanks for Iran's aid and support for Iraq.' The two sides stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of Iran's relations with Iraq and agreed on the necessity of protecting security and stability and expanding the horizons of joint cooperation between Iran and Iraq."
