Baghdad Governor Abdul Muttalib Al-Alawi chaired an emergency meeting today, Friday, to discuss the mechanism for housing displaced Lebanese. A statement by the governorate stated that "the meeting, which comes in accordance with the directives of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, was attended by the head of the security committee in the Baghdad Provincial Council, the first administrative deputy, the technical deputy, the technical assistant, and the directors of (municipalities, water, sewage, engineering, roads and bridges, and the director of the governor's office and general planning, the citizens' affairs department)." It added that "this meeting is a preparation for holding another expanded meeting in the presence of the relevant authorities," indicating that "the meeting in the operations room in the governorate included discussing the mechanism for receiving, dispatching and housing displaced people from the brotherly Lebanese people, in addition to preparations to deal with various developm ents and changes."
