Ramallah: Jordanian Ambassador to Palestine, Issam Badour, Wednesday discussed in Ramallah with Palestinian Minister of Women's Affairs Mona Khalili, the political and field developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, amid escalation of the crimes of the Israeli occupation. Badour reiterated Jordan's "firm" positions towards the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, stressing the "deep-rooted, brotherly" relations between the two peoples and leaderships. The envoy also affirmed the Kingdom's keenness to develop ties in all fields, especially in the field of supporting, protecting and empowering Palestinian women. For her part, Khalili praised the "historic" bilateral relations, commending Jordan's role in defending the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people. The minister also stressed the importance of permanent joint cooperation and coordination in various fields, especially women's issues. During the meeting, she reviewed the escalating attacks by the Israeli occ upation army and settlers against the Palestinians, their land, property and holy sites. Khalili spoke about the ministry's role in preparing national strategies with all institutions to combat violence against women, and amending laws and legislation. In this regard, she noted Palestinian political commitment to support and empower women, aimed to ensure their participation in all sectors, and achieve sustainable development, true partnership, equality and social justice.
