African Union (AU) Commissioner for political Affairs, Peace and Security, Bankole Adeoye, stressed, Monday, on the importance of working for the benefit of the African continent and advancing reforms of the UN Security Council. He commended Algeria's efforts in advocating for Africa's voice on the global stage. This came in a statement by Adeoye's during the opening of the 11th ministerial meeting of the Committee of 10 Heads of State and Governments of the African Union (C10) for Security Council Reform in Algeria's capital. Adeoye praised Algeria's role in amplifying Africa's voice on the global stage, supporting demands for UNSC reform, and combating terrorism. Additionally, He criticized the double standards of some countries on issues like Palestine, affirming the African Union's openness to change. Furthermore, he stressed on the need to reform the UNSC and accelerate negotiations among African countries in this regard, and called for the implementation of the "Ezulwini Consensus" and the "Sirte D eclaration." Adeoye highlighted that Agenda 2063, which Algeria actively helped design, must be inclusive and effective for Africa's benefit.
