Unknown gunmen opened fire on a colonel in the Maysan Border Police, seriously injuring him and subsequently dying. A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "A colonel died of his wounds after being subjected to an armed attack in Al-Ghadeer neighborhood in the city of Amara, the center of Maysan Governorate."
