Aqaba: The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Chief Commissioner, Nayef Al Fayez, met with an Omani delegation chaired by Ahmed bin Hassan Al Theeb, Deputy Chairperson of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, and Deputy Head of the Omani Mission in Jordan, Yaqoub Al-Ruqaishi. The meeting focused on discussing cooperation between the two brotherly countries in a number of complementary sectors, including investments, business, services, environmental activities, the port ecosystem, renewable energy projects, and green industries. Al Theeb presented the Oman experience, which attracted local and regional investments and established vital projects concerned with green industry in an area of 50,000 km in the Omani desert. He also highlighted the investments in the economic zone and industrial cities, which reached 7 billion Omani riyals, on an area of 250,000 km in the Duqma area, in addition to modern industry projects and the iron and gypsum sheet stockpiles in cooperation with Indian and Chinese companies. Al Theeb pointed out that Oman has established an economic zone with Saudi Arabia, a free zone with the United Arab Emirates, which is under construction, the land crescent with Yemen, a new port in Salalah and Sohar, and a railway linkage project with the UAE. For his part, Al Fayez said, "We are ready to cooperate within the available efforts, provide experiences, and facilitate any task that may help you in the field of experiences and economic and investment exchange between our two brotherly countries." Al Fayez highlighted the incentive ecosystem and available investment opportunities offered by ASEZA to investors, especially from Arab brothers, and ASEZA ability to attract new investments that achieve a sustainable vision at the local and regional levels, in addition to the potential of the port ecosystem, major companies and alternative energy projects, and leveraging Jordanian expertise in the marine environment. The delegation visited the Industrial City, Aqaba Development Company, ASEZA investment arm, the Aqaba Company for Ports Operations and Management, Ayla Project, and tourism projects on the South Beach.
