The inspection teams in the Baghdad/ Karkh Health Department arrested, today, Thursday, impersonators of nurses and smuggled medicines in the Karkh side. A statement by the Karkh Health Department stated that "the Private Health Institutions Inspection Division in the Baghdad Karkh Health Department carried out a series of inspections in Al-Amel neighborhood area, where a number of serious health violations were detected. The campaign resulted in the discovery of an unlicensed nursing clinic, and another clinic run by a graduate of the College of Education as a nurse, in addition to a clinic in which a graduate of middle school also works as a nurse." The statement added that "in the Kwerish area, south of the capital, a teacher working as a nurse in a nursing clinic was arrested, and a laboratory and a pharmacy were also seized inside a residential house containing expired medicines and medicines smuggled from the Ministry of Health (M.O.H.)". He pointed out that "this evening campaign was carried out in cooperation with the Organized Crime Directorate and the security forces within the area of responsibility, and official seizure reports were issued for the seized medicines and devices." The statement quoted the Director of the Inspection and Complaints Department, Saif Bashar, as saying that "the investigation and seizure operations were carried out based on a judicial order issued by the Third Karkh Court," indicating that "these procedures come within the framework of preserving the safety of citizens' health, and that the necessary legal measures will be taken against violators once the necessary approvals are completed.
