The detachments of the Anti-Crime Directorate arrested an accused of stealing a woman's bag after he pulled it and dropped it on the ground in Baghdad. The Directorate stated in a statement: "The detachments of the Al-Amel neighborhood office for combating crime arrested an accused riding a wheel, for stealing a woman's bag containing an amount of money after he pulled it and dropped it on the ground while she was walking, and fled to an unknown destination." He explained that the arrest took place after the complainant called for help to form a working team, and after investigating and collecting information and with technical efforts, the accused was reached and arrested and the vehicle he was using in the theft operations was seized. He added that after the investigation was conducted with him, he explicitly confessed to committing several thefts. The investigation papers were presented to the investigating judge, who decided to detain him in accordance with the provisions of Article (443) of the Penal Code, so that he may receive his just punishment.
