Baghdad Operations Command announced the arrest of a "fugitive suspect", a member of a gang specializing in "murder, robbery, drug trafficking and tribal attacks" east of the capital. The Command stated in a statement: "In continuation of the security operations carried out by our units to enhance security and stability in all areas of the capital, Baghdad, with the aim of pursuing outlaws and perpetrators of criminal and organized crimes, and after receiving information indicating the presence of a (fugitive accused) wanted under Article 406 of the Penal Code "premeditated murder", and belonging to a dangerous gang specializing in crimes (murder, robbery, drugs, tribal assault), a joint task force was immediately formed from the Fifth Division of the Federal Police, with the support of a distinguished intelligence effort, and after investigation, inspection, gathering information, following up on surveillance cameras and setting up a tight ambush for him, he was arrested in "Al-Hussainiya" area and handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against him."
