Southern Military Zone forces Saturday foiled two infiltration and drug-smuggling attempts by individuals and a drone on the western front of the border, according to a source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF). Troops monitored and tracked the smugglers and applied the rules of engagement, forcing them to retreat, it said, adding that a search of the area uncovered quantities of narcotics, which were sent to competent authorities. The border guard also thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs by a drone, which was shot down inside Jordanian territory and a quantity of drugs was found and transferred to relevant authorities. The source reiterated that JAF is using all its resources and full force to ward off any infiltration and smuggling attempt and safeguard the Kingdom's security and stability.
