Amman: The Jordanian Armed Forces in collaboration with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, early Wednesday successfully thwarted a large-scale drug smuggling attempt originating from Syrian territory. A senior military source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army reported that the Eastern Military Zone intercepted the smuggling operation within its jurisdiction. The ensuing clash resulted in the death of one smuggler and injuries to several others, who retreated into Syrian territory. The confiscated drugs have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further action. The military source affirmed the Jordanian Armed Forces' dedication to safeguarding national security, emphasizing that all necessary measures will be taken to decisively counter any threats.
