Baghdad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed to keep pace with developments in the field of air transport and meet all international aviation standards. The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani chaired, on Sunday, a meeting of the committee charged with ending the European ban on Iraqi airlines." The statement added, "Al-Sudani reviewed the measures taken by the competent committee within the efforts to end the ban and its requirements, and in the field of developing the work of the airline company and automating all its joints, as well as in the field of planes' repair and maintenance, and the continuation of efforts to develop the capabilities of the company's cadres and facilities, and to improve the level of services provided to travelers in line with the status and role of airlines, as a civilized interface for Iraq. Al-Sudani stressed the necessity of meeting the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) an d the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as quickly as possible, and keeping pace with global development in the field of air transport for passengers and goods, as well as working according to specific time frames to determine and achieve targets. Al-Sudani stressed that lifting the ban on Iraqi Airlines is one of the files that receives great attention from the government, and it is a file that cannot be tolerated, and he stated that legal measures will be taken against those who are negligent in meeting the requirements and following up on this file.
