The Arab League Wednesday launched an initiative in cooperation with specialised Arab and Islamic organisations and Arab funds to support education in Gaza amid an ongoing Israeli war. The Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector at the Arab League, Saeed Abu Ali, stated that the initiative is coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Palestine and university presidents in Gaza. Abu Ali noted that the main and urgent problem now is providing tuition fees for students. He said the Arab League is working on a 3-stage plan to confront the effects of the Israeli aggression on Gaza and its repercussions on education and the destruction of universities.
