An ISIS remnant element was overthrown in Nineveh

The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security announced today, Monday, the overthrow of an ISIS remnant element after an intelligence operation and intensive follow-up in Nineveh Governorate. A statement by the Directorate said: "Based on the directives of the Minister of Defense Thabet Al-Abbasi and in continuation of the qualitative operations of the heroes of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense, and based on accurate intelligence information, the Special Intelligence Missions Cell affiliated with the Directorate, in coordination with the Border Forces, was able to overthrow one of the elements of the dangerous ISIS terrorist gangs in Nineveh Governorate, and an arrest warrant was issued against him in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law." It added, "The arrest operation came after an intelligence effort and fruitful intensive follow-up and a tight ambush in which he was arrested in the Rabia district."
