The Intelligence and Security Directorate of the Ministry of Defense announced today, Tuesday, the arrest of an "extortionist" member of the army, two accused of kidnapping, and two drug dealers. The Directorate stated in a statement that "the detachments of the Intelligence and Security Directorate of Babylon arrested a member working in one of the security departments, who was blackmailing the accused with sums of money in exchange for tampering with their investigation papers. He was arrested in a tight ambush red-handed in the center of Al-Mahawil District, and all legal measures were taken against him and he was referred to the relevant authorities. On the other hand, and through accurate intelligence information, the detachments of the Intelligence and Security Directorate of Baghdad arrested two wanted persons for kidnapping charges in Baghdad, against whom two arrest warrants were issued in accordance with the provisions of Article (421), and they were duly handed over to the competent authorities. I t explained that the detachments of the Directorate were able to overthrow two drug dealers and promoters in the governorates of Muthanna and Karbala according to two arrest warrants issued against them (28 drugs), and they were arrested red-handed with narcotics and drug paraphernalia in their possession, which were confiscated and referred to investigation.
