The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced: "The State Department has approved the sale of weapons and ammunition to both Saudi Arabia and the UAE for a total value of $ 2.2 billion." The deal also includes training programs, software development, and engineering and logistical support services. Regarding the deals allocated to Saudi Arabia, the Pentagon explained in another statement that they include the sale of 220 tactical missiles of the type (AIM-9X Block II Sidewinder) worth $ 252 million, and include technical support and training programs. It also includes approval to sell ammunition for artillery and tanks, including 10,000 anti-tank shells of the type (M456) with a caliber of 105 mm, worth $ 139 million. The deal also includes the sale of 2,503 Hellfire I I missiles (AGM-114R3), in addition to technical and logistical support programs worth $ 655 million, according to what the Pentagon reported in a third statement. The statements confirmed: "These deals enhance the foreign policy goals and national security of the United States, by supporting the security of its regional partners in the face of future and current threats."
