Amman: Algeria Saturday welcomed the opinion of the International Court of Justice regarding the illegality of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands in the West Bank and Gaza. According to the Algerian News Agency, the Foreign Ministry stated that the decision "did justice to the Palestinian people by affirming their inalienable and imprescriptible legitimate rights to recover their lands stolen by the Israeli settler occupation." "This important historical step comes to remind the international community that the essence of the conflict lies in the expansionist occupation policies that are based on the annexation of Palestinian lands by force and usurpation and the construction of settlements," the statement notes. "The goal behind these systematic violations is to eliminate the Palestinian national project and the two-state solution, which has been enshrined and proven by international legitimacy for more than 7 decades," according to the statement.
