Algeria's Minister of Trade and Export Promotion Tayeb Zitouni discussed Monday with his Turkish counterpart, Omer Bolat, the means to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries. In statements to the media, Zitouni said that Turkiye is "more than a trading partner and has strong and historical relations with Algeria." He added that they launched a real discussion to search for mechanisms to reach the goal of USD 10 billion in trades in 2025, adding that they have made great strides in this regard. For his part, the Turkish Minister of Trade Omer Bolat said that they discussed the steps that must be taken to increase the volume of trade exchange and enhance economic cooperation between the two countries. He stated that the volume of trade exchange with Algeria amounted to USD 6.3 billion last year, expressing his hope that the upward trend will increase in the upcoming months.
