Prime Minister, Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani inaugurated Karbala Industrial City by launching work on establishing four important industrial chemical projects. Al-Sudani said that Karbala Industrial City is an important industrial project and is a specialized city that invests in petroleum products and crude oil, and is close to the path of development and the opportunities it carries for work and investment. He appreciated the efforts of the Industrial Cities Authority, which is proceeding to complete the projects of these cities. The Prime Minister directed the governors to complete the industrial city projects in their governorates, and organize the random situation facing the industry and affecting the work of local governments. He stressed the government's approach towards optimal investment of oil wealth that produces various industries, prepares new industries and opens important factories. The Prime Minister also stressed the government's support for construction industry projects and the localizatio n of the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. He stressed the need to continue implementing the government's vision to diversify the economy through several paths, the basis of which is supporting the technically and financially capable private sector, which has the vision and keenness to implement major projects. The Prime Minister referred to the meeting of the Industrial Coordination Council after its restructuring, and its adoption of activating the national industry, with the impossibility of continuing to rely on oil revenues to cover the growing needs. He directed that the implementing company be hosted at the next meeting of the Industrial Coordination Council, after preparing a working paper on ideas and proposals with the Ministry of Oil, and that it be presented in the form of an integrated vision to drive the wheel of work in this sector.
