Baghdad , Prime Minister, Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani directed the immediate closure of (Al-Khadhra Bridge) in Baghdad/Al-Karkh until maintenance is carried out and an iron fence is installed, after several accidents witnessed by the bridge, and to avoid any future accidents. According to a statement from his office, the Prime Minister assigned the Baghdad Municipality and the Roads and Bridges Department to carry out immediate maintenance to meet traffic safety requirements and install iron fences and concrete separating blocks to ensure the safety of citizens. The Prime Minister directed the formation of an investigative committee headed by the Deputy Director of the Prime Minister's Office to investigate the reasons for the failure of the bridge's maintenance and the failure to respond to citizens' repeated appeals, which caused unfortunate traffic accidents that led to casualties.
