Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed, today, Wednesday, from Diyala, the necessity of completing major service projects within their specified times. A statement from the Prime Minister's Office stated that Al-Sudani conducted a field follow-up on the executive works of the sewage water projects in Al-Khalis / complementary works, and the sewage project west of Baqubah / second phase, in Diyala Governorate. During his visit to the project sites, he stressed the importance of adhering to the scheduled times for completing service projects, especially those that have reached advanced completion rates, such as the sewage water project in Al-Khalis, which we are waiting to complete in order to enter into a package of new service projects, in the neighborhoods where sewage projects are completed, in addition to what they represent in terms of strategic importance in the areas served by them. The Prime Minister met with the resident engineers and workers at the site, and reviewed the project's disburs ement rates compared to the completion rates, appreciating the role of all workers in these projects that the government has placed among the priorities of its government program. It is worth noting that the Khalis wastewater project has reached 90% completion, and is one of the investment projects of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, with a design capacity of (22,000 m3/day), and consists of a main treatment plant, (7) stations for lifting wastewater, and (6) stations for pumping rainwater, with the establishment of a wastewater network with lengths of up to 113 kilometers, serving 90 thousand people from the district center. As for the second phase of the West Baqubah wastewater project, which is being implemented as part of the investment projects of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, the completion rate has reached 47%. It consists of a main treatment plant, with the establishment of (6) sewage pumping stations, and (3) rainwater pumping stations, with the establish ment of a sewage network with lengths of up to 270 kilometers, in addition to pumping lines, with a capacity of (56,000 m3/day), and it will serve 300,000 people in the areas of West Baqubah.
