Gaza: The UN Human Rights Office in the occupied Palestinian Territory expressed deep shock and outrage over the continued killings of emergency workers in Gaza. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, in a post on X, the UN Human Rights Office stated, "On 3 August, the Israeli military struck a Palestinian Red Crescent Society facility, killing one and injuring at least 3 other staff." The office highlighted the alarming numbers, reporting that to date, at least 49 members of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and 136 Civil Defense members have lost their lives. These workers are engaged in life-saving efforts while putting their own lives at risk. The UN Human Rights Office emphasized the need for an independent investigation into all civilian killings, noting that deliberate attacks on humanitarian workers could potentially be classified as war crimes.
